Welcome!

I'm Maddy,  owner and founder of Descendents Design.  I grew up spending much of my childhood with my mom and aunt at the nursery and floral shop they ran. I remember making my first arrangements from their leftover clippings in whatever old vases I could find. I’d tag along on wedding deliveries and setups where I could offer a little set of hands to help.

Art and design became a part of my life through flowers and planting. Growing up, I was more of an athlete than an artist but I always found myself in love with nature, flowers, and occasionally drawing. In 2021, I decided to quit my corporate job and chase a dream with my mom and aunt. This new path allowed me to have the work-life balance I wanted and spend more time with family and friends.

When I am not in the studio, I am either coaching college softball, spending time with my family, at the beach, or finding an at home project to do. I have a passion for building things, hard ciders, crewneck sweatshirts, and comfy clothes. I also have an unhealthy obsessions with wide brim hats, shackets, and boots but we don’t talk about it.
